While we were cruising on the clouds going to Bacolod last year to celebrate Masskara I had an opportunity to capture this famous volcano here in Negros the Mt.Kanlaon. According to the legend the name of the mountain was named after a noble lord Laon. Laon has the ability to talk with the animals which also helped him slaughtered the 7 headed dragon. In gratitude the people named the mountain after him Khan Laon (khan means noble lord) and the volcano is the spirit of the dead dragon.
DidGeeKnow the first climber of the mountain recorded (though documents still under question) is Mr. Nicolas Loney a British businessman and Vice Consul in the Philippines year between 1855-1856.
