Bayfront in Cebu is known for its location being close to SM City, but they have extended its presence and availability to Cebuanos and tourists. They are now also in the cultural center of Cebu City for tourists to have easy access to the historical sites such as Basilica del Minore de Santo Niño aka Santo Niño church, Colon street, Casa Gorordo, Fort San Pedro, Mango Avenue, Capitol building as well as convenience to significant Hospitals like Cebu Doctor’s Hospital and Chong Hua Hospital.
Opened last September 7, 2021, with 100 rooms, 68 service apartments, and an 18-story building I checked this brand new hotel of Bayfront Hotel Cebu last November 28, 2021, 2 months after their opening.
They have 3 types of rooms available namely Classic, Studio Executive, and Premier Family Room. Studio Executive and Premier Family Room have their own kitchenette but only the Premier Family rooms have a dining set. This feature can help you save on your trip or if you have a specific diet to follow since you can cook your own food inside your room. I stayed in the Studio Executive room and so far, there were no kitchen cookware and utensils because it’s available upon request with a minimal rental fee depending on the duration of the stay. Though I did not have plans to cook there and ordered pasta to room service instead. Personally, what I don’t like during my stay was check-in took a while despite that it was booked ahead through Agoda though I understand due to COVID-19 protocols in cleaning a room, the clogged bathroom sink, no green or plant either artificial or natural inside the room or bathroom, the room is not carpeted (I would understand if it’s a resort or close to a beach), air-condition machine is a window type though it’s not really a concern but aesthetically not pleasing for me and the window treatment of the assigned room to me that time was a shade though it’s still blackout I would prefer if drapes.
During that time since it was 2 months old after their opening, I can tell that they were not that ready yet, their pool which is located on the 19th-floor roof deck was available but there was still scaffolding on the side, the bar was empty and roof-deck dining was not yet available though tables and chairs were already in place. Other facilities such as a restaurant and bar (Breeze) are located on the ground floor while their gym is on the 19th floor also. Basic hotel services are already active such as a 24-hour front desk, wifi, room service, function rooms, transportation service, and parking space. Hopefully and I think at the time of posting this blog they have improved a lot so check them out.
Check-in time is 2:00 P.M and check-out time is 12:00 noon. Early check-in and late check-out are subject to corresponding charges. Make sure to have with you a valid government-issued identification card or valid company identification card plus a Php 1,000/night incidental deposit upon check-in.
Overall it’s still a pleasurable stay and the above comments are personal opinions and very minor what’s important are their services such as how their staff handled their customers which is superb, very friendly and smiling! The rooms and the facilities are clean and most importantly they have an ATM outside the building which is a plus for me.
